Additional Optical Splitter Information

This dual-purpose optical device works as both an optical switch and an optical splitter. As a switch, it will allow you to connect more than one input source to your home theater amplifier/receiver. Connect up to 2 audio sources and choose between them, rather than dealing with the hassle of constantly unplugging and reconnecting cables. Switch between digital audio components such as your satellite receiver, CD/DVD player, and video game console with ease. Just connect 2 of your audio sources to one end of this switch, and connect the other end to your amplifier/receiver. Then simply power on the source you would like to hear, and this device will auto sense it and begin outputting the audio to your amplifier/receiver. This device also works as an optical splitter. It will allow you to connect one digital audio input source, and split the signal to 2 home theater receiving devices. Now you can split the digital signal from your CD, DVD or other digital optical device and connect it to both your receiver and digital video recorder (DVR). This device is easy to use and does not require a power source, making it a must-have for any home theater enthusiast.

What Customers Say About Optical Splitter:

Heres my quick review,I was aprehensive seeing some negative reviews but I hooked it up and it works just as they said it would.Of coarse whatever its being shared with needs to be off so drill that into the heads of the little ones(kids). You will also need an optical cable because it just doesnt plug into the back of the receiver, But the same page that had the splitter for sale had the optical cable for 1 penny. yes 1 penny how can you go wrong.I am into day number 2 of using the setup with my ps3 everthing A-OKGood Luck.

Signal losses to high to make it working with Sony, TEAC and JVC CD recorders

I'm not sure who the manufacturer is, but it didn't work at all. Apparently there's no quality control on this product and it's not even tested to see if it works. This was the worst piece of junk I've ever purchased. I took the product apart because it sounded like something was broken, only to find three optical wires, not connected in any way.

Otherwise, I would assume that the product is defected and the manufacturer should come back with a solution. I tried all the scenarios; change the cables, unplug one source, activate the two sources together,. No audio output. For the guys who got the product working, it would be nice to till us how. Some of the guys said "It worked perfectly" and the others said "Did not work". I bought the product; it did not work at all. you name it and still no audio.

The only this this thing is good for is a doorstop. You would think it would work, since no signal comes from either machine when off. Hooked it up to my Xbox and PS3 and sound would not come out of either machine. I guess I will go spend money on a good swtich now. Tried to go cheap, but you get what you pay for. I have 2 optical inputs on my hometheater system, but needed 3 for my Xbox, Cable box and just purchased PS3. I knew it was not the cables, since I have good ones.
